UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED that:
a. The application for Consolidation of Erven 4786 and 4788, Strand as per Consolidation Drawing Number STR4786/86/CONSOL dated 11/09/2017, BE APPROVED in terms of Section 98(b) of the Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015 subject to the conditions contained in Annexure A.
b. The application for Rezoning of the proposed consolidated property from Single Residential Zone 1 to General Residential Subzone 4 to enable the development of a 4 storey block of flats consisting of 61 residential units in accordance with Drawing No 1 dated 17/08/2018, BE APPROVED in terms of Section 98(b) of the Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015 subject to the conditions contained in Annexure A.
c. The application for Permanent Departure for the relaxation of the northern common boundary line to 6.5m in lieu of 5.0m on the 4th storey, BE APPROVED in terms of Section 98(b) of the Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015.
d. The application for Permanent Departure for the relaxation of the eastern common boundary line to 6.3m in lieu of 6.5m on the 4th storey, BE APPROVED in terms of Section 98(b) of the Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015.
REASONS FOR DECISION
The MPT APPROVED the application for the reasons set out in the Planner’s Report and agreed to amend 6.1.4:
The development is of an appropriate scale and form that relates to the surrounding townscape, building heights and development pattern.
Delete reason 6.1.6
