RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY

That the application for the Rezoning of a portion (36 m²) of Remainder Erf 86 Zeekoevlei at 1 Governers Walk, Zeekoevlei from Single Residential Zone 1 to Utility Zone in terms of Section 42(a) of the City of Cape Town Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015 to permit a freestanding base telecommunication station in accordance with the plan attached hereto as Annexure A1 (Site No T6791; Sheet No. : A01/01 ; Rev A) BE REFUSED in terms of Section 98 (c) of the Municipal Planning By-law, 2015.

REASONS FOR DECISION:

The MPT REFUSED the application for the following reasons

1. The location of the cell mast will have a negative visual impact in an environmentally sensitive area
2. Alternative locations in a wider area and opportunities for co-location have not been properly explored, nor- in sufficient detail, rendering the application non-compliant with Policy
