RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY

a. That the application for Consent in terms of the Development Management Scheme to permit a freestanding base telecommunication station on Erf 30219 Cape Town, BE APPROVED in terms of Section 98(b) of the Municipal Planning By-law, 2015.

b. That the application for a departure on Erf 30219 Cape Town, BE REFUSED in terms of Section 98(c) of the Municipal Planning By-law, 2015.


REASONS FOR DECISION:

REASONS FOR APPROVAL

1. The proposal complies with all of the applicable objectives as set out in the Telecommunication Mast Infrastructure Policy, 2015.
2. The proposal complies with the criteria as set out in Section 99(1) of the Cape Town Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015 in so far as desirability is concerned.

REASON FOR REFUSAL

1. The approval of the departure will have a negative visual impact, but the re-location of the cell mast behind the clump of trees obviates the need for a departure.
