RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY

That the application for consent use in respect of Erf 17660, Parow for the installation of a 25 m high monopole telecommunication base station BE REFUSED in terms of Section 98(c) of the Municipal Planning By-law, 2015.

REASONS FOR DECISION:

1. The proposal does not comply with the principles of the Telecommunication Mast Infrastructure Policy, 2015 (TMIP) in that it is not promoting co-location, as there is an existing mast located approximately 250 meters from the subject property.
2. The proposed installation could result in a negative impact on the amenity of the surrounding community, as there are 2 other mast sites within close proximity to the subject property, which does not promote the principle of co-location.
