RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY
That an administrative penalty of 5% in the amount of R1855 BE APPROVED in terms of Section 98 of the City of Cape Town Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015 for an unlawful carport in respect of Erf 6051, Strand in accordance with Plan No. 1802201605.
REASONS FOR DECISIONS:
1. The current owner was responsible for the contravention.
2. The duration of the contravention is short, approximately 14 months.
3. The nature of the contravention is minor.
4. The owner showed good faith and submitted the administrative penalty application when he was requested to do so.
5. The applicant did not provide any motivation for the unauthorized building work.
