DRAFT REVIEW OF THE CITY OF CAPE TOWN AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT PLAN, FOR PUBLIC COMMENT
Mr. Gildenhuys introduced the report and explained that it aims to obtain a recommendation from Subcouncil 14 in respect of the City’s intention to seek the closure of public road and the granting of in-principle approval from Council for the proposed sale of non-exempted capital assets being Erf 104178 and a portion of Remainder Erf 103653, Manenberg, bound by Ruimte Weg (north), Baakens Road (south), Arno Road (east) and Orion Road (west). Comments opened on 15 September 2023 and are closing on 16 October 2023.
Cllrs identified the need for an improvement on communication for the Public Participation Processes. Cllr Adams proposed for public meetings to engage broader community
Ald Jacobs raised a concern about illegal spray painting and wanted to find out how it is controlled.
Mr. Gildenhuys explained that complaints for illegal spray painting can be sent to his department. Upon receipt of the complaint they investigate the allegations and open a case. However, the complainant should provide an affidavit of the complaint.
Cllr Moses proposed for the adoption of the resolution seconded by Cllr Adams.
There was unanimous agreement with the resolution.
