20 September 2023:
It is recommended by Subcouncil 2 that
-
Subcouncil take note of the proposed upgrades and development of Recreation and Parks facilities and amenities detailed in Section 7;
-
Subcouncil be informed and note the Property Management processes underway for the transfer of two portions of the site to Provincial Government;
-
Subcouncil be aware of the development of two schools (1 Primary and 1 Secondary) undertaken by Western Cape Education Department and led by Mr Clive Truter as the Programme Manager and responsible for reporting on the progress of schools development;
-
Subcouncil be aware that as part of the development of the two (2) schools, the Western Education Department will construct a new school hall;
-
Subcouncil take not of the most recent changes made to the approved Precinct Plan as indicted in Annexure D;
-
Subcouncil take note of the intention to continue the City’s Public participation process with the Public Participation Unit to refine the draft concept designs and implement capital projects in this financial year.
Further Resolved:

That a monitoring task team be establish for both projects;
-
That B Burger: Recreation & Parks, present a plan at the next Subcouncil 2 Meeting on how the site will be addressed.
