SUBCOUNCIL 2: STATUS OF TRAFFIC CALMING ASSESSMENTS: AUGUST 2023
 
RESOLVED unanimously by Sub council 2 that outcome of the investigation of the below mentioned streets be BE SUPPORTED and that the department make budget provision for the installation thereof.
 
REF STUDY AREA OUTCOME
TNDN4034 Traffic Calming along Eben Olivier Street, Brackenfell [Ward 8] Based on the conclusion of the investigation, traffic calming is not supported along Eben Olivier Street, Brackenfell. 
TNDN4002 Traffic Calming along the Intersection of Groenewoud Street, Brackenfell [Ward 8]
 
Based on the conclusion of the investigation, 1X speed hump is supported and recommended adjacent house no. 82.
TNDN4316 Traffic Calming along 5th Avenue, Eikendal [Ward 111]
 
Based on the conclusion of the investigation, traffic calming is supported along 5th Avenue , and 2 X speed humps are recommended adjacent the school.
 
TNDN3982 Traffic Calming along Vivaldi Street, Brackenfell [Ward 111] Based on the conclusion of the investigation, traffic calming is not supported  along Vivaldi Street. Speeding is a universal issue on all streets of Cape Town.
TNDN4509 Traffic Calming along Spreeu Crescent, Joostenberg Vlakte [Ward 102] Based on the conclusion of the investigation, traffic calming is not supported along Spreeu Crescent, Joostenberg Vlakte.
TNDN4316 Traffic Calming along 5th Avenue, Eikendal [Ward 111] Based on the conclusion of the investigation, x2 traffic calming is recommended along 5th Avenue adjacent the school. 
TNDN4327 Traffic Calming along Cnr of Station Street and 9th Avenue in Belmont Park [Ward 111] Based on the conclusion of the investigation, a raised intersection is not supported and it was requested by the ward councillor that the street be re-investigated as the road is near a [pedestrians users] and a school.  That site visits be conducted in the morning between 08:00am and 09:00am and again in the afternoons when schools are adjourned.
