It is recommended by Subcouncil 2
-
That the following additional market spaces be considered for decelopment and inclusion in the proposed informal trading plan;

Erven 165 – 174 situated in 6th Avenue, Belmont Park for Ward 111 as the Subcouncil 2 disagree that it is not suitable to upgrade it for a market;

Erf 461 Jannie Engelbrecht Street, Brackenfell;

That the current 5 spaces identified in Northpine drive be increased towards the park, Northpine Drive;

Erf 46 Koopmans Avenue, Scottsdene;

Erf 12995 La Boheme Street, Wallacedene;

That the Subcouncil NOTE the following:

That it be accepted that daily law enforcement operations by the Safety and Security directorate is a necessity with the oversight of its Portfolio Committee to ensure there is enough resources and strategy will be exercised for this purposes;

The by-law on Informal trading need be revisited in order to make provision for specific consequences for non-compliance with the conditions of permits;
-
Permitted traders need to be monitored and managed by Local Area Economic Growth;
-
The Subcouncil 2 shall exercise detailed monitoring.
Further Resolved:

That the Informal Trading facility on the corner of Petunia & Aandblom in Scottsville [Ward 111] should be taken off the Informal Trading Plan due to continuous gang violence in the area;

That the promulgated trading area as per notice 7711 dated 9 December 2016 be removed from the suggested trading plan list, and that the road reserve in Frans Conradie, Peerless Park West also be added for investigation for informal trading;

That the department in above at the next Subcouncil 2 Activity Day Meeting, do a presentation on the proposed trading plan for Subcouncil 2.
