UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED that:
a. The rezoning of Erf 14704, Somerset West, from Single Residential Zone I to Subdivisional Area for General Residential Zone I purposes BE APPROVED in terms of Section 98(b) of the Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015, subject to the conditions contained in Annexure A.
b. The subdivision of Erf 14704, Somerset West, into 10 group housing portions (9 residential units and 1 private road/open space portion), as indicated on plan no C6054/Sub dated Dec 2020, BE APPROVED in terms of Section 98(b) of the Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015, subject to the conditions contained in Annexure A.
REASONS FOR DECISION
The MPT APPROVED the application for the reason set out in the Planner’s Report and agreed to the following changes:
Delete reason 6.1.4 and update numbering sequence
Amend reason 6.1.5 as follows:
6.1.5 A condition is imposed to ensure that the treatment of the interface/edge with the public street and abutting neighbours occurs in a manner that is more in fitting with the surrounding area’s low-key character.
Amend Annexure A
Correct condition 2.1 as follows:
2.1 That a revised Site Development Plan be submitted for approval and which is to address the interface on the common boundaries, especially with Erven 12181, 15018 and 15040, Somerset West, through appropriate landscaping. The scale and design of the access gate also are to be revised to the satisfaction of the authorised official
