This test proves that your vehicle is in good running order and is required for us to process an exchange of ownership. A well-maintained car is safer on the road and is more fuel-efficient. It is also cheaper to keep it in good running order than to fix problems only once they arise.

Roadworthy testing centres

Drivers can get a roadworthy certificate from a number of private and public vehicle testing stations (VTS). Make sure that you fix all known problems with the car before you bring it in for a roadworthy test. If not, your car will fail the roadworthy test and you will need to redo the test until it is roadworthy.

See all Motor Vehicle Testing Centres in the Western Cape

Please note

Roadworthy certificates are valid for only 60 days.

Getting your car ready for a roadworthy test

Badly maintained vehicles can increase fuel usage by as much as 50%, and generally don’t work as well as those that are well maintained.
