Urban Mobility<h4>We are made up of the following departments:</h4><p> <strong>Network management</strong><br> We are responsible for managing the City’s road network and public transport modes, including rail. We also help to improve the safety for all road users and implement transport technology solutions and manage on-street parking.</p><p> <strong>Infrastructure implementation</strong> <br> We are responsible for leading and guiding construction and capital investment related to public transport, non-motorised transport and roads, as well as implement the strategic direction as expressed in the CITP. </p><p> <strong>Transport planning</strong> <br> We focus on the planning functions in the integrated transport management process, which include the medium to long-term CITP and related policies, sector plans and strategies. We are also responsible for planning, designing, costing and programming of all road and public transport infrastructure in the city. </p><p> <strong> Roads Infrastructure and Management</strong> <br> We are responsible for the overall management and maintenance of all road and stormwater assets. We manage the districts and depots and are responsible for the roads asset management, informal network management and roads infrastructure and systems.</p><p> <strong>Public Transport Operations</strong> <br> We manage operations of the bus rapid transit contracts and all road-based contracts, such as dial-a-ride, as well as MyCiTi station management. </p><br><p>We are responsible for the development of the Integrated Public Transport Network (IPTN), with the aim to transform the current system into an integrated and well-managed network that is efficient, effective, affordable, safe, reliable and sustainable. </p><p> Mobility has a direct impact on a city’s productivity and economic growth. This is why we are pursuing an intermodal transport system where commuters can seamlessly transfer from one mode, be it rail, bus or minibus taxi, to another as outlined in the <a href="" target="_blank">Comprehensive Integrated Transport Plan </a>(CITP). </p><p> We are also responsible for developing, maintaining and managing the roads and stormwater infrastructure, MyCiTi bus service, public transport facilities, parking, destination boards, traffic calming and transport enforcement in partnership with the Safety and Security team.
