Change your address on your municipal account<span> <h2 class="sectHeading">​​​​​​​​​​How to change your address​​​​​​​</h2></span><span> <div class="notification with-heading dark-copy pink bg-light-grey"><div class="graphic with-border"> <i class="info note">​​​</i> </div><div class="desc"><h4>Please note</h4><p> Due to technical issues, you cannot update your details online via your e-Services profile. All update requests must be made in-person at a <a href="https://www.capetown.gov.za/Explore%20and%20enjoy/See-all-city-facilities/our-service-facilities/Cash%20Offices%20and%20Walk-in%20Centres">Walk-in centre</a>, via telephone on <em><a>0860 103 089</a></em> or emailed to <a href="mailto:accounts@capetown.gov.za">accounts@capetown.gov.za</a> until further notice.</p></div></div></span> <h4>To update your email, home or postal address you can: </h4><ul><li>visit one of our <a href="https://www.capetown.gov.za/Explore%20and%20enjoy/See-all-city-facilities/our-service-facilities/Cash%20Offices%20and%20Walk-in%20Centres">walk-in centres</a></li><li>contact our call centre on <a> <em>0860 103 089</em></a></li><li>email <a href="mailto:accounts@capetown.gov.za"> <em>accounts@capetown.gov.za</em></a></li></ul><h4> You will need to supply the following documents:</h4><ul><li>A letter requesting the change, including:</li></ul><ol><li>- the municipal account number,</li><li>- the new email,</li><li>- home or postal address, and</li><li>- the property owner(s) signature(s)</li></ol><ul><li> For a business account, the letter should be signed by the director or authorised signatory    </li><li>For an agent acting on behalf of the owner - a signed letter of consent from the property owner</li><li>A copy of the Identity document (ID)/driver of the applicant/signator</li><li>Your latest municipal account</li></ul> <span> <div class="notification with-heading dark-copy pink bg-light-grey"><div class="graphic with-border"> <i class="info note">​​​</i> </div><div class="desc"><h4>Please note</h4><p>Depending on the type of change, the correct address can take up to 60 days to reflect, due to the verification process.</p></div></div></span> <h2 class="sectHeading">Change a name on your account</h2><p>You can add, remove or change a name on your municipal account if you are the owner of the property. </p><p>This process will not change the name at the deeds office, only the name on your municipal statement. If you want the title deed to be changed, you need to consult a transferring attorney. </p><h4>Add or remove a name on your account</h4><p>The following documents are required:</p><ul><li>A letter requesting the removal/adding of the name signed by all relevant parties - the letter should stipulate in which format the name shold appear on the invoice (i.e. Mr J and Mrs A Dearie or Mr J Dearie & Mrs A Dearie etc.)</li><li>A copy of ID(s) for all relevant parties</li><li>A copy of the deed of sale (if applicable)</li></ul><h4>Change a name on your account</h4><p>If you got married or the name of your business has changed and you would like the name to reflect on your account statement, the following documents are required: </p><ul><li>A copy of your marriage certificate/new business registration certificate (which ever is applicable)</li><li>A copy of your ID(s)</li><li>For a business - the written request must be signed by a person with signing power (Business owner/director etc.). </li></ul><p> Submit your request and all supporting documents via email to <em> </em><a href="mailto:accounts@capetown.gov.za"><em>accounts@capetown.gov.za</em></a>.</p><h2 class="sectHeading">Invoice not received​​​​​</h2><p>If you have not received your invoice, it could be because your details are incorrect or your account has been blocked. You will need to contact us on <em><a>0860 103 089</a></em> to confirm the reason. If your details need to be updated, you can follow the process above.</p> <span> <div class="notification with-heading dark-copy pink bg-light-grey"><div class="graphic with-border"> <i class="info toptip">​​​</i> </div><div class="desc"><h4>RECEIVE YOUR ACCOUNT VIA EMAIL</h4><p> You can receive your monthly municipal invoice via email by registering for <a href="https://www.capetown.gov.za/City-Connect/Register/eservices-and-municipal-accounts/Register-for-e-billing">e-Billing</a>. You can also SMS your account number and email address to <em> <a>31223</a></em>.</p></div></div></span> <p>If you bought a new home and you still receive the previous owner's account to that address, contact us to close the previous owner's account. If the property is not yet registered in your name, the process can take up to six weeks.
