You may also phone <em> <a>112 </a></em>(toll-free). </p> <span><figure><a href="#0214807700"><img class="responsive" src="" alt="" /></a>​ </figure></span><br> <p>Take note of the steps below to ensure that when making a call, you provide the most detailed and effective information:</p><ul><li>Once you have diall​ed the number and are through to the operator, give them your contact number first so they can call you back if you lose connection. </li><li>Always give your full name.</li><li>Describe your location as accurately as you can. Remember, the operator might not necessarily know your neighbourhood like you do.</li><li>Give details of your emergency. Let the operator guide the conversation — they have been trained to ask the most pertinent questions.</li><li>For as long as you are able, stay on the line. To contact Metropolitan Police Services directly and report a crime, you can call the <a> <em>107</em></a> number if you are on a landline or <a> <em>021 480 7700</em></a> from a cell phone.</p><h2 class="sectHeading">​​​​​​​​Contact Law Enforcement​​​​​</h2><p>Law Enforcement is a secondary arm of peacekeeping forces that operate within the municipality. Their primary function is to enforce by-laws throughout the city. They also have a dedicated copper theft unit.</p><p>To report cable theft, call their 24-hour hotline on <a> <em>0800 222 771</em></a>. Alternatively, you can contact <a> <em>107</em></a>. This number is toll-free from a landline and payphones. If you are using a cellphone, please call ​<a><em>021 480 7700</em></a>.</p><h2 class="sectHeading">​​​​​​​​Contact Traffic Services​​​​​</h2><p>Traffic Services focus on monitoring the roads, managing traffic violations and ensuring the safety of drivers and pedestrians on the City’s roads.</p><p>To report incidents to Traffic Services, you can contact <a> <em>0860 765 423</em></a> or <a> <em>021 596 1999</em></a>.
