<span><h2 class="sectHeading">How to register</h2></span> <p> <strong>Step 1</strong>: <a href="https://www.capetown.gov.za/City-Connect/register/Information-and-learning/Register-for-a-City-library-membership">Sign up for library membership</a> at the front desk. Remember to bring along your ID and proof of residence. You will then be issued with a library card.</p><p> <strong>Step 2: </strong>Take your bar-coded library card to the librarian on duty. The librarian will activate the card so that you will be able to register on SmartCape.</p><p> <strong>Step 3</strong>: Go to a SmartCape computer then follow these steps: </p><ul><li>Click on the "Register" icon. </li><li>You will see a screen asking you to enter some details into the system.</li><li>Type in your personal details, your username and password. You will need to verify your password by typing it twice.</li><li>On the right-hand side of the screen, you will see two tabs. One is "Next/Continue" and the other one is "Cancel".</li><li>You only click "Cancel" if you do not want to continue with the registration process.</li><li>To move to the next screen, click "Next/Continue". Keep doing this until you get to click on "Finish".</li></ul><p> <strong>Step 4:</strong> If you have registered successfully, you will receive a welcome note in your mailbox.
