Comment on the renaming of the old Granary Building to Desmond and Leah Tutu House<span> <h2 class="sectHeading">​​​​​​​​​​About​​​​​​​</h2></span> <p> Renaming the old Granary Building will honour and memorialise the life and work of the late archbishop Desmond Tutu and his wife, Leah Tutu. They have made notable contributions to the political and socio-cultural identity of Cape Town and have been an inspiration to Capetonians and South Africans.</p><p>The building currently houses the Desmond and Leah Tutu legacy foundation and includes: </p><ul><li>a museum </li><li>exhibition area </li><li>archive </li><li>offices</li></ul><p>A portion of the building is also utilised for City offices and our Strategic Assets Department is currently managing the building.
