Comment on the proposed leases, lease renewals and encroachments of a minor nature for various categories of City-owned property<span> <h2 class="sectHeading">About</h2></span> <p> In accordance with section 16.5 and 16.6 of the <a href="http://resource.capetown.gov.za/documentcentre/Documents/Bylaws%20and%20policies/Management%20of%20Certain%20of%20the%20City%20of%20Cape%20Towns%20Immovable%20Property%20Policy%20-%20approved%20on%2026%20August%202010.pdf">Management of certain of the City of Cape Town’s Immovable Property Policy</a> (adopted by Council on 26 August 2010 C54/08/10) and Chapter 4 of the Municipal Asset Transfer Regulations (2008) we are considering the lease of the following City-owned property:<br></p> <span> <div class="mobile-scroll"><table style="width:600px;"><thead><tr><th style="width:52px;">Category<br></th><th style="width:122px;">Description<br></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td style="width:52px;">Improved properties<br></td><td style="width:122px;">Leases and lease renewals of improved properties for a period no longer than 3 years at a market-related rental or tariff rental.</td></tr><tr><td rowspan="1" style="width:52px;">​Outdoor seating</td><td rowspan="1" style="width:122px;">​Leases and lease renewals for outside seating purposes at a market related rental. </td></tr><tr><td rowspan="1" style="width:52px;">​Non-viable gardening and security leases<br></td><td rowspan="1" style="width:122px;">​Leases and lease renewals of non-viable portion(s) of municipal land Security leases to adjoining land owners at a tariff rental as approved by Council annually. </td></tr><tr><td rowspan="1" style="width:52px;">​Encroachments of a minor nature<br></td><td rowspan="1" style="width:122px;">​Agreements (including renewals) for encroachments not exceeding 50 centimetres over the erf boundary or not exceeding 50 m². <br></td></tr></tbody></table></div>​​​</span> <p>The specific details for each property, per transaction, will be communicated to the Subcouncil Manager, Subcouncil Chairperson, Ward Councillor and abutting land owners.
