In accordance with Chapter B and Section 13.2 of the
Management of certain of the City of Cape Town’s Immovable Property Policy (adopted by Council on 26 August 2010 C54/08/10) and Chapter 4 of the Municipal Asset Transfer Regulations (2008) we are considering the transfer of the following City-owned property:

Erf/Farm number

Extent (±Ha)

Street and suburb

Current zoning

Erf 179607 Cape Town

± 280 m²

Off Beachcraft Road, King David Country Club

MU (Municipal Use)

Erf 179607 Cape Town was ceded to the City of Cape Town free of charge in terms of a subdivision condition, to be utilised as an electrical switching station site. The King David Country Club (former owners) requested that the City transfer the property back to them, for inclusion in the King Air Industria Development. In return, a much larger property (Erf 180452 Cape Town, 2 962 m² in extent), will again be ceded to the City as an electrical switching station site.

Information statement

The reason for the proposal is that the existing electrical switching station site (Erf 179607 Cape Town) be transferred back to the King David Country Club, and in return, another electrical switching station site in much larger extent (Erf 180452 Cape Town) will again be ceded to the City (swapped) as a Municipal Use zoned site.

The expected benefit to the municipality that may result from the transfer is that the the City will obtain a much larger substation site in close proximety of the property being transferred.

The City will not receive proceeds from the sale, but in return will receive a substation site in larger extent that will better provide for the electricity requirements of the industrial development on the abutting properties.

No loss will be incurred by the City arising from the proposed transfer.

All costs related to the transfer of the properties will be for the applicant’s account.

In terms of section 17 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000, you can submit comments to the municipality in respect of the proposed transfer.

Access the locality map.
