Comment on the proposed management agreement for the Delville Wood War Memorial in the Company’s Garden, Cape Town<span> <h2 class="sectHeading">About​​​​​​​</h2></span> <p> Notice is hereby given that the Council is, in terms of the Policy on the <a href="http://resource.capetown.gov.za/documentcentre/Documents/Bylaws%20and%20policies/Management%20of%20Certain%20of%20the%20City%20of%20Cape%20Towns%20Immovable%20Property%20Policy%20-%20approved%20on%2026%20August%202010.pdf" target="_blank">Management of certain of the City of Cape Town’s Immovable Property Policy</a> (adopted by Council on 26 August 2010 C54/08/10) and Chapter 4 of the Municipal Asset Transfer Regulations (2008) we are considering a management agreement for the the following City-owned property:​​</p> <span> <div class="mobile-scroll"><table><thead><tr><th>Erf/farm number</th><th>Extent (±)</th><th>Street and suburb</th><th colspan="1">Current zoning<br></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Portion of Erf 95135</td><td>± 907, 52 m²</td><td>Victoria Street, Cape Town<br></td><td colspan="1">​Open Space 2<br></td></tr></tbody></table></div>​​​</span> <p>We plan to grant rights to <strong>Commonwealth War Grave Commission (CWGC) </strong>to manage and maintain the Delville Wood War Memorial in the Company’s Garden.</p><h4>Information Statement:</h4><ul><li>CWGC will funding the entire project and take permanent responsibility for its maintenance, as it does with its other memorials. </li><li>The management agreement will relieve the City of maintenance burdens and will ensure the general upkeep of the War memorial.
