<p> Notice is hereby given that the Council is, in terms of the Policy on the
<a href="http://resource.capetown.gov.za/documentcentre/Documents/Bylaws%20and%20policies/Management%20of%20Certain%20of%20the%20City%20of%20Cape%20Towns%20Immovable%20Property%20Policy%20-%20approved%20on%2026%20August%202010.pdf" target="_blank">Management of certain of the City of Cape Town’s Immovable Property Policy</a> (adopted by Council on 26 August 2010 C54/08/10) and Chapter 4 of the Municipal Asset Transfer Regulations (2008) we are considering the management agreement of the following City-owned property:<br></p>

<p>We plan to enter into a cooperative management agreement with
<strong>Scarborough Village Association</strong> for the management of the abovementioned property.<br></p><p> The City recognises the benefits and importance of involving local communities and regular users in the management, maintenance and security of community assets. By entering into cooperative management agreements, we are promoting a sense of ownership, pride and communal responsibility. The agreement provides clear guidance on the rights, roles and responsibilities of users operating on communal facilities.</p><h4>Information Statement</h4><ul><li><strong>Reason: </strong>Scarborough Village Association (SVA) is a community-based organization dedicated to fostering a strong, vibrant and inclusive community within the Scarborough Village area. Established with the mission to enhance the quality of life for residents, SVA actively engages in initiatives that promote social cohesion, cultural enrichment and the overall well-being of the community. </li><li><strong>Expected benefit: </strong> Optimal use of City assets through cooperative and coordinating management structures, enabling sustainable management. <br></li><li><strong>Expected proceeds:</strong> The organisation will manage the property and contribute to the operational enhancement of the asset. </li><li><strong>Expected gain or loss:</strong> no loss will be incurred by the City arising from the agreement.
<br></li></ul><p>In terms of section 17 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000, you can submit comments to the municipality in respect of the proposed management area. </p><p>
