Comment on the proposed management agreement for City-owned property in KraaifonteinComment on the proposed management agreement for City-owned property in Kraaifontein<img alt="" src="https://resource.capetown.gov.za/cityassets/PublishingImages/CityConnectHeader.png" style="BORDER:0px solid;" /><div class="ExternalClassB9FD9E0D415A4F4A9A5C4260AD94E210"><p>We are considering a management agreement for City-owned property in Kraaifontein, and we want to hear from you.<br></p></div><span> <h2 class="sectHeading">​​​​​​​​​​About</h2></span> <p> Notice is hereby given that the Council is, in terms of the Policy on the <a href="http://resource.capetown.gov.za/documentcentre/Documents/Bylaws%20and%20policies/Management%20of%20Certain%20of%20the%20City%20of%20Cape%20Towns%20Immovable%20Property%20Policy%20-%20approved%20on%2026%20August%202010.pdf" target="_blank">Management of certain of the City of Cape Town’s Immovable Property Policy</a> (adopted by Council on 26 August 2010 C54/08/10) and Chapter 4 of the Municipal Asset Transfer Regulations (2008) we are considering the management agreement of the following City-owned property:<br></p> <span> <div class="mobile-scroll"><table style="width:573px;"><thead><tr><th>Facility<br></th><th>Erf / Farm number</th><th>Physical address<br></th><th colspan="1">Current zoning​<br></th><th colspan="1">​Subcouncil<br></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Scottsville Community Garden</td><td>Erf 8033, Kraaifontein<br></td><td>Cnr Fabriek and Peerles Park<br></td><td colspan="1">​Open Space (OS2)<br></td><td colspan="1">​2<br></td></tr></tbody></table></div>​​​</span> <p>We plan to enter into a cooperative management agreement with <strong>Scottsville Community </strong>for the management of the abovementioned property.<br></p><p> The City recognises the benefits and importance of involving local communities and regular users in the management, maintenance and security of community assets. By entering into cooperative management agreements, we are promoting a sense of ownership, pride and communal responsibility. The agreement provides clear guidance on the rights, roles and responsibilities of users operating on communal facilities.</p><h4>Information Statement</h4><ul><li><strong>Reason: </strong>the establishment of a community food garden on city-owned land.
