<p> In accordance with section 16.5 and 16.6 of the

<p>We plan to lease the property to
<strong>Handipack Investments</strong> or its successors-in-title for parking purposes.<br></p><h4>Information Statement<br></h4><ul><li>
<strong>Reason: </strong>the property is not required for the provision of a minimum level of basic municipal service; </li><li>
<strong>Expected benefit: </strong>the property is underutilised, surplus to Council’s requirements, no demand exist for same, and the lease will furthermore relief Council of a maintenance burden and generate funds for the City of Cape Town; </li><li>
<strong>Expected proceeds:</strong> that the City will receive a market related tariff rental of R2 250.00 per month (exclusive of VAT and inclusive of rates) for the proposed lease for parking purposes; escalating at 6% per annum with effect 2024-06-01(subject to any increase in terms of rental for land leased as determined from time to time by Council for a period of ten years, with an option to renew for further ten years, subject at any time to two month’s notice of termination. </li><li>
<strong>Expected gain or loss:</strong> no loss will be incurred by the City arising from the granting of right; and
