Comment on the proposed lease of City-owned property in Industira Ring Road, Ravensmead<span> <h2 class="sectHeading">About</h2></span> <p> In accordance with section 16.5 and 16.6 of the <a href="http://resource.capetown.gov.za/documentcentre/Documents/Bylaws%20and%20policies/Management%20of%20Certain%20of%20the%20City%20of%20Cape%20Towns%20Immovable%20Property%20Policy%20-%20approved%20on%2026%20August%202010.pdf">Management of certain of the City of Cape Town’s Immovable Property Policy</a> (adopted by Council on 26 August 2010 C54/08/10) and Chapter 4 of the Municipal Asset Transfer Regulations (2008) we are considering the lease of the following City-owned property:<br></p> <span> <div class="mobile-scroll"><table style="width:600px;"><thead><tr><th>Erf/farm number</th><th style="width:122px;">Extent (±)</th><th>Street and suburb<br></th><th colspan="1" style="width:135px;">​Current zoning<br></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>12658</td><td style="width:122px;">± 3996 m²</td><td>76 Industira Ring Road, Ravensmead</td><td colspan="1" style="width:135px;">General Business 1 (GB1)</td></tr></tbody></table></div>​​​</span> <p>We plan to lease the property to <strong>New Horizons Community Initiative NPO</strong> for facility management. <br></p><h4>Information Statement</h4><ul><li> <strong>a) Reason: </strong>The business park is to be regularised via a lease in order for it to be repaired so it may be disposed of. </li><li> <strong>b) Expected benefit:</strong> The facility operator will be able to maintain and enhance a condusive trading for existing and possibly new small businesses while securing the premises and accommodating contractors effecting repairs.
