Comment on the proposed lease of City-owned property in Itsomo Street, Mfuleni<span> <h2 class="sectHeading">About</h2></span> <p> In accordance with section 16.5 and 16.6 of the <a href="">Management of certain of the City of Cape Town’s Immovable Property Policy</a> (adopted by Council on 26 August 2010 C54/08/10) and Chapter 4 of the Municipal Asset Transfer Regulations (2008) we are considering the lease of the following City-owned property:<br></p> <span> <div class="mobile-scroll"><table style="width:600px;"><thead><tr><th style="width:156px;">Erf/farm number</th><th style="width:122px;">Extent (±)</th><th style="width:151px;">Street and suburb<br></th><th colspan="1" style="width:195px;">​Current zoning<br></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td style="width:156px;">Erf 6979, Mfuleni; a portion of a registered remainder of Erf 5380</td><td style="width:122px;">± 355,85 m²</td><td style="width:151px;">109 Itsomo Street, Mfuleni</td><td colspan="1" style="width:195px;"><div>General Business (GB4) and Registered</div><div>Zoning Scheme: Transport (TR2): Public road and public parking</div><div> <br> <br> </div></td></tr></tbody></table></div>​​​</span> <p>We plan to lease the property to <strong>Khayelitsha Christian Worship Centre</strong> or its successors-in-title for religious and social upliftment purposes. <br></p><h4>Information Statement</h4><ul><li>The reason for the proposal to grant a long-term right to use, control or manage the relevant asset is to use it as a place of worship, which provides services in the form of religious and social upliftment of the community. </li><li>The expected benefits to the municipality that may result from the granting of the right are increased community services, religious and social upliftment programmes for the public.
