Comment on the proposed lease of a portion of Bishop Lavis Drive in Bishop Lavis, MatroosfonteinComment on the proposed lease of a portion of Bishop Lavis Drive in Bishop Lavis, Matroosfontein<img alt="" src="https://resource.capetown.gov.za/cityassets/PublishingImages/CityConnectHeader.png" style="BORDER:0px solid;" /><div class="ExternalClassB20B2B76C4E343CD917119152B3E1686"><p>We are considering the lease of a portion of City-owned property in Matroosfontein, and we want to hear from you.</p></div><span> <h2 class="sectHeading">​​​​​​​​​​About​​​​​​​</h2></span> <p>Notice is hereby given that the Council is, in terms of the Policy on the <a href="http://resource.capetown.gov.za/documentcentre/Documents/Bylaws%20and%20policies/Management%20of%20Certain%20of%20the%20City%20of%20Cape%20Towns%20Immovable%20Property%20Policy%20-%20approved%20on%2026%20August%202010.pdf" target="_blank">Management of certain of the City of Cape Town’s Immovable Property Policy</a> (adopted by Council on 26 August 2010 C54/08/10) and Chapter 4 of the Municipal Asset Transfer Regulations (2008) we are considering the lease of the following City-owned property:</p> <span> <table style="width:564px;"><thead><tr><th>Erf/Farm number</th><th>Extent (±)</th><th colspan="1">Street and suburb</th><th colspan="1">Current zoning</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Rem. Erf 808 Matroosfontein</td><td>648 m²</td><td colspan="1">​Bishop Lavis Drive, Bishop Lavis, Matroosfontein</td><td colspan="1"> <a href="https://web1.capetown.gov.za/web1/councilhubonline/subcouncilprofile?subcouncilid=10">​</a>Transport 2: Public Road and Public Parking</td></tr></tbody></table>​​​</span> <p>We plan to lease the portion of public street to David Van Schoor for storage and selling of building aggregates. </p><h4>Information Statement</h4><ul><li> The reason for the proposal to grant a long-term right to use control or manage the relevant asset – Granting the proposed lease will generate a monthly rental income for the City. </li><li>The expected benefit to the municipality that may result from the granting of the right – The City will benefit from this proposed lease, as the City’s premises will be utilised/maintained as well as revenue generated. </li><li>The expected proceeds to be received by the Municipality resulting from the granting of the right – The City will receive the proceeds of a rental income of R3 527.19.00 (excluding VAT) per month. </li><li>The expected gain or loss that will be realised or incurred by the Municipality arising from the granting of right – No loss will be incurred by the City arising from the granting of right. </li><li>The proposed transaction includes a call for alternative proposals.
