<p>In accordance with section 16.5 and 16.6 of the
<a href="http://resource.capetown.gov.za/documentcentre/Documents/Bylaws%20and%20policies/Management%20of%20Certain%20of%20the%20City%20of%20Cape%20Towns%20Immovable%20Property%20Policy%20-%20approved%20on%2026%20August%202010.pdf" target="_blank">Management of certain of the City of Cape Town’s Immovable Property Policy </a>(adopted by Council on 26 August 2010 C54/08/10) and Chapter 4 of the Municipal Asset Transfer Regulations (2008) we are considering the lease of the following City-owned property:</p>

<p>We plan to lease the property to
<strong>Sampada Shopping Centre (Pty) Ltd (Goodwood Mall)</strong> for parking purposes.<br></p><h4>Information statement<br></h4><ul><li>The reason for the proposal to grant a long-term right to use control or manage the relevant asset – Granting the proposed lease will generate a monthly rental income for the City. </li><li>The expected benefit to the municipality that may result from the granting of the right – The City will benefit from this proposed lease, as the City’s premises will be utilised/maintained as well as revenue generated. </li><li>The expected proceeds to be received by the Municipality resulting from the granting of the right – The City will receive the proceeds of a rental income of R12 500.00 (excluding VAT) per month. </li><li>The expected gain or loss that will be realised or incurred by the Municipality arising from the granting of right – No loss will be incurred by the City arising from the granting of right. </li><li>The advert also includes a call for alternative proposals. </li></ul><p>In terms of section 17 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000, you can submit comments to the municipality in respect of the proposed lease.</p><p> <a href="https://resource.capetown.gov.za/documentcentre/Documents/City%20strategies%2c%20plans%20and%20frameworks/VoortrekkerRd-%20Goodwood-Lease-Plan.pdf" target="_blank">Access the lease plan</a>. </p>
