Comment on the proposed lease of City-owned property in Carissa Street, Eversdal<span> <h2 class="sectHeading">About</h2></span> <p> In accordance with section 16.5 and 16.6 of the <a href="http://resource.capetown.gov.za/documentcentre/Documents/Bylaws%20and%20policies/Management%20of%20Certain%20of%20the%20City%20of%20Cape%20Towns%20Immovable%20Property%20Policy%20-%20approved%20on%2026%20August%202010.pdf">Management of certain of the City of Cape Town’s Immovable Property Policy</a> (adopted by Council on 26 August 2010 C54/08/10) and Chapter 4 of the Municipal Asset Transfer Regulations (2008) we are considering the lease of the following City-owned property:<br></p> <span> <div class="mobile-scroll"><table style="width:600px;"><thead><tr><th>Erf/farm number</th><th style="width:122px;">Extent (±)</th><th>Street and suburb<br></th><th colspan="1" style="width:135px;">​Current zoning<br></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Erf 4812</td><td style="width:122px;">± 318 m²</td><td>Carissa Street, Eversdale</td><td colspan="1" style="width:135px;">Open Space 2: Public Open Space</td></tr></tbody></table></div>​​​</span> <p>We plan to renew the lease of the portion of City-owned property to <strong>Marthinus Jacobus Van Den Berg</strong> for access purposes. <br></p><h4>Information Statement</h4><ul><li>The reason for the proposal to grant a long-term right to use control or manage the relevant asset. Granting the proposed lease will generate a Market rental income for the City. </li><li>The expected benefit to the municipality that may result from the granting of the right. The City will benefit from this proposed lease, as the City’s premises will be utilised/maintained as well as revenue generated. </li><li>The expected proceeds to be received by the Municipality resulting from the granting of the right.
