Apply for film support
If you would like to apply for film support, which includes financing, City services or City venues from the City of Cape Town you will need to submit an application to our Film Cape Town Office.
We invite eligible filmmakers and media professionals to apply and contribute to Cape Town's vibrant creative community.
Applications are open from 30 April – 31 May 2026.

Please note
When submitting an application for funding, you must ensure that the project will be completed by 30 June annually.
The City uses the following criteria when considering support:
- Productions that stimulate local economic growth, create jobs and attract direct investment within the City of Cape Town.
- Film and media productions that highlight and promote the unique aspects of Cape Town and authentically portray Cape Town’s rich history and cultural heritage.

Step 1: Make sure that your company is compliant.
Step 2: Download and complete the application form below.
Make sure you gather the correct supporting documents and information before you begin the process.
Step 3: Email the completed application and project plan form, together with all supporting documents to
Film.Fund@capetown.gov.za.
No hand-delivered applications will be accepted.
The closing date for applications is 31 May 2026. Late submissions will not be accepted.
