<span><h2 class="sectHeading">How to apply for event support</h2><span><div class="notification with-heading dark-copy pink bg-light-grey"><div class="graphic with-border"> <i class="info note"></i> </div><div class="desc"><h4>Please note</h4><p> <b></b>To ensure that your application is considered timeously, ensure that you send your application at least three months prior to your event.</p></div></div></span></span><p>The City of Cape Town uses the following criteria when considering support for your event:</p><ul><li>A high number of visitors will be attracted to Cape Town due to the hosting of the event.</li><li>National and international media show a large amount of interest in the event.</li><li>The hosting of the event supports the City’s facilities.</li><li>Trading opportunities for local traders will be created by the event.</li><li>The event will create opportunities for local suppliers.</li><li>The hosting of the event will address seasonality in the City’s events calendar.</li><li>Responsible tourism and sustainable living practices will be applied during the event.</li><li>The event will apply event greening principles.</li><li>Job opportunities will be created as a result of the event.</li><li>The event will create access for communities and assist with social integration.</li><li>A positive economic, social and environmental impact due to the hosting of the event.</li></ul><p><strong>Step 1:</strong> Gather all the correct supporting information before you begin the process and ensure you are able to complete the Event Support Application Form, found in the document downloads below. </p><span><div class="lrg-icon-content bordered"><div class="lrg-icon lrg-check"><p> <b>Supporting information you will need:</b></p><ul><li>type of event</li><li>nature of support required - financial, non-financial or both</li><li>address of the proposed venue</li><li>number of participants</li><li>an event plan</li><li>how the event links to the City’s five IDP outcomes</li></ul></div></div></span><p><strong>Step 2:</strong> Contact the Events Office by emailing <a href="mailto:events.applications@capetown.gov.za"><em>events.applications@capetown.gov.za</em></a> for information about the procedure for getting support for your event.</p><p><strong>Step 3:</strong> Once you have found out all the necessary details, and completed the relevant steps, you can email your application to <a href="mailto:events.applications@capetown.gov.za"><em>events.applications@capetown.gov.za</em></a>. </p><span><h2 class="sectHeading">Contact us</h2></span><span><div class="contact"><h4>Events Office</h4><address><ul><li>Telephone: <br> <a title="title" href="#">021 417 4928</a></li><li>Email: <br> <a href="mailto:events.application@capetown.gov.za">events.application@capetown.gov.za</a> </li></ul></address></div></span>
