Lodge an appeal

If you feel like your rights have been infringed by a decision taken by the City of Cape Town, then you can lodge an appeal by following the process below.

How to lodge an appeal

 

Please note

Appeals can only be made within 21 days of the notice of a decision taken by the City.

Step 1: Compose your appeal notice.

Your notice must:

  • be in writing;
  • state the reasons for appeal;
  • detail how your rights were affected by the decision;
  • contain the remedy or solution you are seeking; and
  • have the original notification of the decision attached.

Step 2: Once you have completed your notice, you can submit it via email to msa.appeals@capetown.gov.za or fax it to 021 400 2503 or 021 400 3788. Written notices can also be hand-delivered to:
