<a href="http://www.capetown.gov.za/Family%20and%20home/Residential-utility-services/Residential-water-and-sanitation-services/Find-a-qualified-registered-plumber-in-Cape-Town">registered plumber</a> is required to notify the City two working days before the planned inspection date when a hot water cylinder (geyser), solar water heating system or heat pump is installed, replaced or undergoes alterations. This ensures that the work adheres to our <a href="https://resource.capetown.gov.za/documentcentre/Documents/Bylaws%20and%20policies/Water%20Amendment%20By-law%202018.pdf" target="_blank">Water Amendment By-law, 2018</a>, section 42(7) and complies with relevant
<a href="https://www.sabs.co.za/standardss/standards_about.asp" target="_blank">South African National Standards codes<i class="icon link-external"></i></a> and National Building Regulations (NBR), Building Standards Act, 1977 (Act 103 of 1977). </p></div> | <span>

Alternatively, a copy can be emailed to the water inspector assigned to oversee the installation</p>
