<b></b>The Events Office does not facilitate approvals for processions, marches and/or gatherings in terms of the Gatherings Act. You will need to
<a href="https://www.capetown.gov.za/City-Connect/Apply/Licences-and-permits/Public-gatherings/Apply-to-demonstrate-or-gather">apply to host a gathering or demonstration</a>.</p></div></div></span></span>
<p>The main consideration for any event being staged in the City of Cape Town is the safety of the participants and the public. Please ensure that you have arranged to
<a href="https://www.capetown.gov.za/City-Connect/Book/Book-a-city-facility/How-to-book-a-city-facility">book your venue</a> prior to applying for your permit.</p><p><strong>Step 1:</strong> Download and complete the Application to Host an Event form, which you can find in the document downloads section below. Provide as much information as possible about your event in order to speed up the approval process.</p>

<h4>Integrated Waste Management Plans (IWMP)</h4><p>You may need an
<a href="https://www.capetown.gov.za/work%20and%20business/commercial-utility-services/commercial-solid-waste-services/integrated-waste-management-plans">integrated waste management plan</a> for your event, depending on the kind of event you are holding.
