<h2 class="sectHeading">How it works</h2></span>
<p> We are issuing parking permits in De Waterkant as part of a pilot programme aimed at alleviating the shortage of parking in high activity areas. </p><p>Demarcated streets in De Waterkant will be reserved for resident-only parking on weekdays from 08:00 to 17:00, and on event days at the DHL Stadium. </p><p>De Waterkant residents who can confirm their residential status can apply for a parking permit, which will allow them to park in one of the resident-only parking areas. </p><p><a href="https://resource.capetown.gov.za/documentcentre/Documents/Maps%20and%20statistics/DeWaterkant_Parking_Permit_Map.pdf" target="_blank">Download the locality map</a> to view the selected streets. </p><h2 class="sectHeading">Permit conditions</h2><ul><li>You can only use your permit on the streets demarcated with “Permit holder” signage, and only in the resident parking permit area specified on your permit. </li><li>You can only use this permit while you are living at the address for which the permit is granted – if you move, the permit will no longer be valid. You will need to provide proof of address when you apply. </li><li>You cannot permanently transfer your permit to any new or other resident of a property in the resident parking permit area. </li><li>Council reviews and approves tariffs on an annual basis. </li><li>You may not duplicate your permit in any way. </li><li>You must display your permit disc prominently on the left-hand side of your windscreen. </li><li>Law Enforcement and Traffic Services will enforce the parking laws for resident-only parking areas. </li><li>This permit does not guarantee that you will get parking, and does not provide for the exclusive use of any specific parking bay in a resident-only parking area.<br></li></ul><h2 class="sectHeading">Apply</h2><h4>Take note:</h4><ul><li>A permit costs R930 (2022/23 tariff) and is valid for 12 months from date of issue. </li><li>You will need to renew your permit annually in advance. </li><li>Replacement of a lost or damaged permit costs R930 (2022/23 tariffs).</li></ul><h4>Follow the steps below to apply:<br></h4><ul><li><strong>Step 1:</strong> <a href="https://resource.capetown.gov.za/documentcentre/Documents/Forms%2c%20notices%2c%20tariffs%20and%20lists/Parking_Permit_application_form.pdf" target="_blank">Complete the application form</a>.</li><li><strong>Step 2:</strong> Submit your application form with all the supporting documentation to <a href="mailto:parking.info@capetown.gov.za?subject=Parking%20permit%20application"><em>parking.info@capetown.gov.za</em></a>.</li></ul>
