Apply for private seller permit
If you would like to sell your own house, then you must apply for a private seller permit. When you do, you will be issued with three permit stickers that are valid for three months. They are non-transferable and must be placed on your directional signs. You can apply for the permits following the guide below.
How to apply for a private seller permit
Please note
If you have not sold your house within three months of listing it, then you must apply for a new private seller permit.
Step 1: Download and fill in the Private Seller Property Market Permit Application Form, which you can find in the document downloads below.
Include with your application:
- A certified copy of your ID
- Proof of address
- Your municipal business partner (BP) number – which can be found on your personal municipal rates invoice (if you do not have a business partner number, you will need to bring proof of address in order to create one)
Step 2: Submit your application at your nearest municipal office (see below).
You will be asked to pay the permit sticker fee calculated in terms of the City’s approved charges and tariffs. Please consult our Environmental and Heritage Management tariffs in the document downloads section below, for the required fee.
Step 3: Once your application is approved, you may put up your three directional boards with stickers.
Please note
Any faded or damaged stickers can be replaced at your local Municipal office, at no extra cost, only when the original faded or damaged stickers are produced.
