Apply for free basic water and sanitation for old age homes and shelters

<span> <h2 class="sectHeading">How to apply: old age homes</h2></span> <p>People accommodated in old age homes, homeless shelters and homes for the physically or mentally challenged qualify for a monthly component of 0,75 kilolitres (750 litres) of free basic water per person and 0,525 kilolitres (525 litres) of free basic sewerage per person.</p><p> <strong>Step 1: </strong>Download and complete the Age Homes Affidavit from the document centre below.</p><p> <strong>Step 2:</strong> Submit it and your documentation at any of the <a href="https://www.capetown.gov.za/Explore%20and%20enjoy/see-all-city-facilities/our-service-facilities/Walk-in%20centres/" target="_blank">City’s walk-in centres</a>. The affidavit must be signed by a commissioner of oaths. </p> <span> <div class="lrg-icon-content bordered"><div class="lrg-icon lrg-check"><p> <b>Include with your application:</b></p><ul><li>a copy of the home's municipal account; and</li><li>documents confirming its status as a registered old age home.</li></ul></div></div></span> <p>A City of Cape Town water inspector will conduct an inspection of the property and will verify the number of beds.
