Apply for campaign or event postersApply for campaign or event posters<img alt="" src="https://resource.capetown.gov.za/cityassets/PublishingImages/City%20Connect%20Header%20Image.jpg" style="BORDER:0px solid;" /><div class="ExternalClass504B2A70EC8C48B3804FCDF9A77BE418"> <p>We control <a href="https://www.capetown.gov.za/work%20and%20business/doing-business-in-the-city/signage-and-advertising/advertising-and-signage-overview">outdoor advertising and signage</a> in Cape Town. ​If you would like to apply for temporary posters for your event or campaign, you can follow the process below to apply for permission.​ </p></div><h2 class="sectHeading"> ​Temporary poster categories </h2><p>Temporary campaign and event posters are split into two categories depending on their function. </p><h4>Category A </h4><p>Nonprofit and community events and campaigns, where:</p><ul><li>the host or campaign organiser is a non-profit body; or</li><li>the event is a live theatre production with a maximum of 10% commercial logo/sponsor.</li></ul><h4>Category B</h4><p>International performances, expo's and temporary non-profit body advertisements for campaigns and forthcoming events with up to 20% commercial sponsors' content.  </p><p>Where the host or organiser is <strong>not </strong>a non-profit body and the event or campaign is:​</p><ul><li>a trade expo, open to the general public;</li><li>for an international entertainer or performer live or "in concert"; or</li><li>primarily for a non-profit purpose (e.g. fundraising or awareness) or relates to sports, the arts, education, health, or culture, despite the display of that poster being of a secondary commercial nature.​</li></ul><div class="notification with-heading dark-copy pink bg-light-grey"><div class="graphic with-border"> <i class="info note">​​​</i> </div><div class="desc"><h4>Please note</h4><p>>The City does not approve posters that are for pure marketing, sponsoring or business purposes.</p></div></div><h2 class="sectHeading">​​How to apply</h2><p> <strong>Step 1: </strong>Download and complete the Poster Application Form, which you can find in the document downloads below.</p> <span> <div class="lrg-icon-content bordered"><div class="lrg-icon lrg-check"><p> <b>Please include with your application:</b></p><ul><li>a copy of municipal account of person applying on your/your company’s behalf;</li><li>a copy of the applicant’s identity document; and</li><li>a completed poster waiver checklist, if applicable​.</li></ul></div></div>​​​​​​</span> <p>Along with your application, you will also need to bring a sample of the poster. Please consult our Environmental and Heritage Management tariffs in the document downloads below for the required fee. </p><p>Once the amount has been paid, you will be issued with the required poster permit stickers, which must be placed on the front of the poster. You will also receive a set of rules which detail when to erect your poster, where you may or may not erect your posters and when they must be removed and returned in order to claim your deposit.</p> <span> <div class="notification with-heading dark-copy pink bg-light-grey"><div class="graphic with-border"> <i class="info note">​​​</i> </div><div class="desc"><h4>Please note</h4><p> <b></b>Poster applications can be processed on the same day if all information is provided and the poster complies with the size and content requirements.</p></div></div></span> <h2 class="sectHeading">​​​​​​​​Payment​​​​​</h2><p>We accept the following methods of payment:</p><ul><li> <strong>Cash, debit and/or credit card: </strong>We will cover the bank cost on a cash, debit and/or credit card payment on an amount above R7000 per transaction. We absorb such costs in respect of single payments of R7000 and below. </li><li> <strong>Direct deposit at any Nedbank branch:</strong> Insert your payment reference number on your deposit slip </li><li> <strong>Electronic payments (EFT): </strong>Select the City of Cape Town as a bank listed beneficiary on your bank's website.
