<h2 class="sectHeading">How to submit a research request</h2></span>
<p>To facilitate this process, we follow a standard research application procedure for all requests, including requests from independent researchers and organisations.</p><p>Due to the volume of requests, research requests should be submitted
<strong>at least one month </strong>ahead of the planned research commencement date. Please bear in mind that requests requiring the participation of multiple departments will take longer to review and process for approval.<br></p><p>For your research request to be considered, you must submit details of the research to be undertaken, along with supporting documentation.</p><h4>Requirements for submitting your research request:</h4><ul><li>Provide us with an approved research proposal or outline of the planned research.</li><li>An ethics approval letter from your academic institution, if applicable.</li><li>Details of the researcher(s) and (their) institutional affiliation(s).</li><li>Full details of the planned research products and how the research and information will be used.</li><li>Full details of what specifically is being requested from the City for the research, including data, documents and details of participants to the research.</li><li>Full details of the time required from City staff who are requested to be participants in the research.</li><li>The commencement date and duration of the research.</li><li>Details of any planned publication of the research findings (name of publication and anticipated publication date).</li><li>Any additional information related to the research proposal as may be requested by the City of Cape Town</li></ul><p>
