We aim to provide core basic services, transport and ICT infrastructure to enable businesses to grow in an inclusive way. Our goals are long-term focused, leveraging trade and sector development functions to the advantage of our business communities.</p><p>We support and work with various industry bodies in Cape Town. See below some of the key partnerships we maintain. Contact them directly or speak to our <a href="https://www.capetown.gov.za/work%20and%20business/doing-business-in-the-city/business-support-and-guidance/the-business-hub">Business Hub</a> about your specific needs.</p><p> <strong>Wesgro</strong><br>The Western Cape Trade and Investment Agency (Wesgro) is the official destination marketing, investment and trade promotion agency for the Western Cape. It is the first point of contact for foreign buyers, local exporters and investors hoping to take advantage of the business potential in the region.</p><p>Wesgro’s mandate is vital for the City in that investment promotion focuses on the recruitment and facilitation of domestic and foreign direct investment into Cape Town, thus helping contribute to investments, job creation and economic development. The CDI’s programmes are aimed at developing sustainable SMMEs through capacity building, product, market and business development support.</p><p>The craft and design sector is a strategic sector in Cape Town due to its ability to contribute to economic growth and development. The CTFC is the first industry body in South Africa to represent the local fashion industry. It is mandated to represent the needs of the local fashion industry and to assist in increasing its competitiveness both locally and internationally.</p><p>It was established to contribute to the increased global competitiveness of enterprises operating within the fashion sector by facilitating the creation of a vibrant and growing fashion industry. We collaborate with the private sector, civil society, academic institutions and government through four key area-based, non-profit sector partnerships that focus on the provision of, ‘top-up; services, on-the-ground economic growth, community support and innovative civil engagement, amongst other things.</p><h4> <a href="https://gtp.org.za/" target="_blank">Greater Tygerberg Partn​ership (GTP)​​​</a></h4><p>The Greater Tygerberg Partnership is a catalytic champion for the Greater Tygerberg Region. We are working towards the revitalisation of the Voortrekker Road Corridor and the Bellville CBD to ensure the social and economic well-being of Cape Town’s second metropolitan node for the benefit and enjoyment of all our citizens. We hope to achieve this by championing a diverse, engaging, economically strong, safe and sustainable metropolitan region through a variety of programmes and services.</p><h4> <a href="https://pedi.org.za/" target="_blank">Philippi East Development Initiative (PEDI)</a></h4><p>“PEDI is forging ahead with a plan to unite business owners and residents of Philippi. The plan will create a model for urban renewal and development in South Africa. The development of key catalyst sectors is at the heart of PEDI’s drive to transform the economy of this, the Central Suburbs.”</p><h4> Hout Bay Partnership (HBP)</h4><p>“The Hout Bay Partnership is based on three simple premises: (1) Hout Bay has great potential, (2) much more will be achieved by working together, and (3) there is value in paying attention to the whole.  The Partnership aims to harness talent and goodwill to address Hout Bay’s social and economic challenges and to contribute to a better, more inclusive and more integrated future for us all.
