International Solid Waste Association Conference 2024International Solid Waste Association Conference 2024<img alt="" src="https://resource.capetown.gov.za/cityassets/PublishingImages/Banner-ISWA-Version-2.jpg" style="BORDER:0px solid;" /><div class="ExternalClassCAC1CBDC2DBD4030B58E8D45AC06EE20"><p>The City of Cape Town is a proud partner and host of the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) Conference 2024: Waste to Wealth, which will be hosted at the CTICC from 15 – 18 September. This is the first time the conference will be held in Africa.<br></p></div><p>The event will bring together waste professionals and experts from around the globe for constructive dialogues that encourage scientific and technical advancement in sustainable solid waste management.</p><p>The conference will promote responsible waste management and speed up our journey towards a circular economy on the continent by stimulating knowledge and skills transfer from leading experts from around the world. It will also provide an opportunity to showcase the best technologies and practices available to Africa, and give a platform for local entrepreneurs, artisans, artists and craftspeople to access a global audience. These small, medium and micro-sized enterprises (SMMEs) form part of a sector which has been identified as crucial to growing Africa’s economies. The conference should stimulate growth and development of these SMMEs and provide an impact long into the future, aimed at leaving a legacy and inspiring scholars to make a difference, launching or boosting many careers.</p><p>The City is supporting the event by providing a venue as well as medical and waste management services.
