International Ombuds Day 2024

International Ombuds Day 2024

The City Ombudsman is participating in a number of events this month in celebration of International Ombuds Day, and we are excited to present this year’s theme: ‘Here to Hear You’.

Lodge your complaints with the Office of the City Ombudsman (OCO) and the right regulatory bodies during the month of October.

About

The Ombudsman’s office deals with last resort municipal-related complaints about the City’s administration,as an office of last resort.

This means that you would need to approach your first mode of contact, such as the City’s Customer Relations Management Department or your local Subcouncil office, before approaching the Ombuds office.

You are invited to join us in celebrating the International Ombuds Day annual event, established in 2018.

This October, the Ombudsman’s office will focus on raising awareness about:

  • the ombuds proffession
  • its value-add for the services it offers

The Ombud’s Office is available to assist you with all last resort municipal-related complaints (complaints that have already gone through the City service channels).

Submit your complaints via the following channels:

We encourage you to make use of this free and voluntary option for complaints-handling.
