The City’s Water and Sanitation Department is currently doing emergency repairs to a damaged valve that is affecting the water supply to a large part of Hout Bay. Every effort is being made to complete the repairs as soon as possible. The complexity of the work which involves the removal of the concrete thrust block to access the encased damaged valve for replacement has delayed the repairs considerably. Additional resources have been deployed to assist with the repairs and it is now estimated that the water supply will be restored at approximately 15:00 today.

Every effort is being made to complete the repairs as soon as possible. It is estimated that the water supply will be restored at approximately 21:00 due to the complexity of the work involved.
