Your payments keep City services going | Your payments keep City services going | | |
City customers are reminded and encouraged to pay their municipal accounts this month. We know January can often be the longest financially constrained month of the year. Thank you to all those customers who have already made their payments this month. Customer payments really are what makes this City one we can all be proud of and allows service delivery to continue. All income from rates and services go towards service delivery – that is the primary income stream to pay for services. The City urges residents to make use of our convenient online options to save time and make it easier to pay.

|
'The payment of municipal accounts is what funds service delivery and makes our city great. Thank you to all our account holders for their payments and continuous support. We appreciate the trust our residents place in the City, and remain committed to improving and enhancing our service offering.

'We have implemented a number of measures in the past few months to make it easier than ever for residents to pay their municipal accounts. The latest is the integration of QR codes on account holders' municipal invoices. Hundreds of residents have already chosen to make their payments faster and easier by simply scanning, clicking and paying. Customers are now able to scan the QR code on their invoice, click on the link and confirm their payment details, all using their smartphones. The code is embedded with customers' unique EasyPay number and outstanding balance. This allows easy access to the payment portal, which brings accuracy, efficiency and security to the payment process.

'We also introduced an online booking system for motor vehicle licence renewals, as well as for account payments and queries. Now there is really no need to stand in a queue before making a payment. All residents need to do is to visit the City's website and follow the quick and easy steps to make their booking.

In addition, we encourage residents to switch to emailed accounts by simply forwarding their email and contact number to: Revenue.Eservices@capetown.gov.za or via SMS to 31223. Customers may also register for all online services via the City's website www.capetown.gov.za. More than 580 000 residents have already chosen to make these switches.

'The City is constantly looking for new ways to improve and streamline its service offering to residents across the metro and these innovative approaches provide benefits for both the City and its residents. Our large billing system has a 99% accuracy rate and now it is easier than ever to make payments and keep service delivery and this organisation strong and healthy. We once again urge customers to make use of our new online options,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Finance, Councillor Siseko Mbandezi.

For more information on QR code payments, please see the user's guide: https://bit.ly/3MhZXgT

The below City account payment options are also still available:

• Online: www.Easypay.co.za or www.powertime.co.za

• EFTs: Select the City as a bank-listed beneficiary.
