| Tunes for young and old | Tunes for young and old | | <img alt="" src="https://resource.capetown.gov.za/cityassets/PublishingImages/City%20news.jpg" style="BORDER:0px solid;" /> | <p>The City of Cape Town’s Community, Arts and Culture Development Department, in partnership with Cape Town Opera, will bring the magic of opera directly to our neighbourhoods through a series of community concerts and Opera Blocks performances this month. <br></p> | <span><p>'The City is proud to partner with the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra and Cape Town Opera to bring these initiatives to our residents. Music is not only a unifier, but listening to it also has health benefits like reducing anxiety and blood pressure, and also improving your mood. Music makes us happy and for younger children, it can help in the development of their cognitive and physical abilities,' said Mayoral Committee Member for Community Services and Health, Councillor Patricia van der Ross.<br></p><p>During April there will be a series of community concerts titled Opera in Your Neighbourhood which will bring world-class opera performances directly to the doorstep of our residents, and Opera Blocks interactive performances. The latter creates an opportunity for parents and little ones up to five years old to experience the magic of music and theatre.<br></p>
