Title deed-to-door: Call us, we deliver!

Residents of Hanover Park celebrated as they received the title deeds to their homes this morning, 22 May 2024. The City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Human Settlements, Councillor Carl Pophaim, marked the occasion with approximately 30 residents as he continued on his mission to create many new homeowners with the keys and title deeds to their homes. The new title deed-to-door campaign focuses on finding beneficiaries and delivering their deeds, often to their doorstep. A new QR code also makes it easy for beneficiaries to update their details and make appointments to fetch their deeds.

'We are creating new homeowners! We know that home ownership is the key to the future for our residents and their families as a tangible financial asset. We're doing everything we can to create more homeowners and change lives in this way. I am so excited to embark on our new title deed campaign. We will find our beneficiaries whatever it takes and even deliver deeds at their doorstep. So we're saying call us – we deliver! We've also got a brand new QR code that is an easy way for beneficiaries to update details and make online title deed appointments at their housing office.

'The City's Human Settlements Directorate is building on the success of last year's Festive Deeds Challenge, where we delivered more than 1 000 title deeds to beneficiaries across the metro in just a few months. This time around, we are aiming to deliver even more keys and title deeds to beneficiaries across the city over the next few months. We are excited to celebrate with even more beneficiaries and their families as we help more residents become homeowners,' said Councillor Pophaim.
