Pothole repairs, water reinstatement repairs in Joe Slovo Park

Work is scheduled to take approximately six weeks to complete pending unforeseen delays and inclement weather.
The work is planned to take place between 07:30 and 17:00, Mondays to Fridays.

‘I want to remind residents that water is the primary cause of potholes. I therefore urge residents to please not get rid of water by pouring it on the road at any time during the construction period or at any time as it is a major cause of potholes. We are doing all we can to live up to our commitment of keeping Cape Town’s roads well maintained and durable. We need our residents to work with us on projects aimed at improving their well-being and safety,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.

Traffic moving in both directions will be affected, however, flag personnel will direct traffic through temporary detours around the work area.

‘I also appeal to all to please be cautious when moving around the construction site and to not park their vehicles on the road as this will interfere and delay the work. Residents and road users should consider alternative routes to avoid delays. It is only when we work together that we can make things possible,’ said Councillor Quintas.

End

2022-05-12T22:00:00ZGP0|#1d539e44-7c8c-4646-887d-386dc1d95d70;L0|#01d539e44-7c8c-4646-887d-386dc1d95d70|City news;GTSet|#62efe227-07aa-45e7-944c-ceebacca891dGP0|#8f959905-d2de-4d92-a9c6-f63353e8be65;L0|#08f959905-d2de-4d92-a9c6-f63353e8be65|Joe Slovo;GTSet|#2e3de6c1-9951-4747-8f53-470629a399bb;GP0|#f1734e52-da42-4cfc-a3a5-3514093d3513;L0|#0f1734e52-da42-4cfc-a3a5-3514093d3513|roads;GP0|#3e84e2ed-3e2d-44ae-a5b6-af54ef207755;L0|#03e84e2ed-3e2d-44ae-a5b6-af54ef207755|maintenance10
