Montague Drive open for business again

Following the repair of 12 sinkholes, the City’s Water and Sanitation Directorate successfully completed the reinstatement of roads in Montague Drive in Milnerton earlier last week.

This reinstatement was a joint effort with Road Infrastructure Management Services (RIMS) following the repair of 12 consecutive sewer collapses.

The Water and Sanitation Directorate is especially proud to have completed this project, which has been a source of much inconvenience to businesses and residents.

All final tasks were completed on Tuesday, 18 June 2024. The road has been fully reinstated and opened for traffic.

'We thank residents for their patience during the repairs and working with the City and our staff to complete the project for the benefit of residents and businesses,' said Councillor Zahid Badroodien, the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Water and Sanitation.
