City to commence with resurfacing in Gardens, Bellville, Parow Valley and Salt River

The City’s Urban Mobility Directorate will conduct resurfacing and maintenance work on roads in the Gardens, Bellville, Parow Valley and Salt River areas. The work is set to commence in November 2022 and is anticipated to conclude in December 2022.
The work is planned to take place on weekdays from 19:00 until 05:00 on weekdays and 09:00 until 18:00 on Sundays to limit the impact on road users.
The following road maintenance work will be conducted:

'We ask that the community please cooperate with our team on the ground while the project is ongoing. We would like to resurface these portions of the road to provide residents in the area with a safe and smooth road surface. We have measures in place to help direct residents during the construction period and we urge all road users to please comply,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
The City's Road Infrastructure Management Department will be milling out the existing road surfacing and replacing it with a new asphalt road surface. In addition, maintenance work will be conducted on manholes, curbs and channels. The existing road markings will be repainted once the road surface has been laid. Damaged signage along these sections of roadway will also be repaired. This work forms part of regular maintenance to prolong the longevity of the city's road network.
