| City finalises road resurfacing in Belhar | City finalises road resurfacing in Belhar | | <img alt="" src="https://resource.capetown.gov.za/cityassets/PublishingImages/City%20news.jpg" style="BORDER:0px solid;" /> | <p>The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate hereby advises road users and businesses in the Belhar area of roadworks along Symphony Way, between Erica Drive and Stellenbosch Arterial. The resurfacing and rehabilitation work is planned to restart from Monday, 12 February 2024 until Tuesday, 20 February 2024, weather permitting and provided there are no unforeseen delays. Work will be done on weekdays from 09:00 till 15:30, with no work planned for the weekend, until all of the snags have been resolved. <br></p> | <p></p><span><p>The City identified certain snags during the final inspection after the roadworks were completed in December 2023 which requires some remedial work. </p><p>The remedial work required includes: </p><ul><li>Removing existing surfacing where it does not meet the specifications and replacing it with hot-mix asphalt</li><li>The reinstatement of traffic loops at the intersections </li><li>The reinstatement of the affected road markings that were removed during the remedial roadworks<br></li></ul>

Therefore, traffic moving in both directions will be affected between 09:00 and 15:30 on weekdays. If all goes according to plan, our team will be on site for only about eight days. We thank residents for their patience and understanding.
