Athlone Stadium hosts Coca-Cola Cup finals Athlone Stadium hosts Coca-Cola Cup finals <img alt="" src="https://resource.capetown.gov.za/cityassets/Media%20Centre/Coca%20Cola%20cup.jpg" style="BORDER:0px solid;" /><p>​City of Cape Town representatives last night joined representatives from SAFA and Peninsula Beverages to hand over brand new football kits to the finalists of the Coca-Cola Cup. The City is a sponsor of the event.<br></p><p>The six teams will be competing for honours at the Coca-Cola Cup finals taking place at the Athlone Stadium this Saturday, 15 October 2022. </p><p><span></span></p><figure class="subtopic-fullsize-img"><img class="responsive" src="https://resource.capetown.gov.za/cityassets/Media%20Centre/Coca%20Cola%20cup.jpg" alt="" style="width:968px;" /></figure>​​Cape Town City will be taking on Ubuntu FC in the Under-18, UCT Football Club and Heideveld Ladies FC will be doing battle in the Women's Final while Clover FC and Diadora FC will compete for the men's championship.<p></p><p>The Coca-Cola Cup is one of the longest running and biggest amateur football knockout competitions in Cape Town, featuring more than 800 teams from the Local Football Association across the metro. </p><p>'The City of Cape Town has been a supporter of this event for many years and we are thrilled to be continuing the partnership again this year. The event has served as a platform for the development of talented grassroots footballers for over two decades and we are delighted to be part of a competition that contributes to the improvement of young people in our city. We would like to applaud SAFA Cape Town and its partners for their unwavering commitment to grassroots football.
