About
A spray park is a water-play area that consists of different timed and interactive water spray features which vary from above-ground features like spray cannons, spray loops and dunking buckets to various forms of ground sprayers. Water is recirculated and treated through a process similar to that of a swimming pool filtration system. Water is a scarce resource and spray parks have been designed to minimise water usage.
Nyanga Spray Park was built at a cost of about R3, 5 million and provides a safe space for water-wise recreation which are designed to cater for a range of different age groups, from toddlers to teens. There are shaded areas, overlooking the spray area, where parents can relax, overlooking their children at play.
